MANAS-SPARSH

Healing Minds. Restoring Hope.

Focus Areas: Mental Health | Trauma-Informed Care | Psychosocial Well-being

MANAS-SPARSH addresses the often-invisible crisis of mental health among India's most vulnerable populations. Prisoners, undertrials, victims of violence, and marginalized youth carry heavy burdens of trauma, depression, anxiety, and hopelessness—yet mental health services are almost entirely absent in the contexts where we work.

We provide comprehensive mental health support through screening, counseling, trauma-informed care, and resilience-building programs. Our trained mental health professionals and counselors work in prisons, communities, and learning centers to provide both crisis intervention and ongoing psychosocial support.

Mental health is not a luxury—it's a prerequisite for effective learning, successful rehabilitation, and meaningful reintegration. By addressing mental health needs, we dramatically improve outcomes across all our other programs.

Who We Serve

  • Prisoners with Mental Health Issues -  Individuals showing signs of mental health conditions

  • Untreated Cases - those who receive no mental health treatment or support during incarceration

  • Recidivism Factor - Untreated mental health issues increase the likelihood of re-offending by this multiplier

Trained mental health professionals and counselors, therapy and counseling spaces in prisons and centers, training and capacity building materials, monitoring and evaluation systems
